6.34 Pharogenesis

Pharogenesis lets you browse the full source code history of Squeak and Pharo (up to versions 4.0 and 1.0 respectively). Pharogenesis has so far been tested with Pharo 1.1. A version for Pharo 1.2 is in development. To load the Pharogenesis version browser evaluate:

Gofer new
url: 'http://www.squeaksource.com/GitFS';
package: 'ConfigurationOfPharogenesis';
((Smalltalk at: #ConfigurationOfPharogenesis) project version: #stable) load: #OBExtension

You then need to clone the prepared Pharogenesis repository from github. Issue these commands on the command line:

cd <path to image or one-click application>
git clone http://github.com/pharogenesis/pharogenesis.git
cd pharogenesis
git checkout -b origin/pharo

When you now open a new system browser (OmniBrowser) you will see a new button labelled "Versions (Git)". To test your setup select the method Bag>>add: and click "Versions (Git)". You should be presented with a version browser showing two versions of the method. Close the version browser and click the button "Versions" to open a standard method version browser. A version browser will open but show only one method which is the compiled version from the image.
