4.3.6 Upgrade Pharo

Is it possible to upgrade Pharo to a new version?

No. It is not possible to upgrade for example, from Pharo 1.0 to Pharo 1.1. The only images that can be updated are PharoCore. The solution is just to download a Pharo image of the new version and migrate the necessary stuff.

In theory it would work with a core image, but loading 411 updates is far too slow.

The idea is that one loads the code in a new image. People learned over the years that this is good to do anyway, as this tests that you actually can load your code. e.g. you don't rely on objects in the image that you created years ago but that you lost the setup code for. This is important anyway, independently of updating from 1.0 to 1.1.
